Everyone thinks I'm from Canada

G'Day!

Life in Yass is still treating me well!

The girls and I have been having lots of fun, afternoon dance parties, massive forts, lots of picnics, and this week we made a cake!

Last weekend was bitter sweet as my only close au pair friend, Tanja, left Canberra but we made the most of our last weekend. Facebook told me of this cool event called Hustle&Scoute Twilight Fashion Market. It took place in an airplane hanger, a location that I've never had a chance to visit before. The market was lots of fun with trendy food stalls and beautiful fashion. I was lucky to meet two really interesting ladies. One stall caught my eye because I noticed Ghanaian-fabrics! It was so cool to see a little bit of Ghana in Australia. The next women that I met runs a fair trade clothing company via her website. I'm hoping that I'll get to grab a coffee with her some day and pick her brain about fair trade! Overall super fun event, thanks Facebook! I also learnt that there will be a fashion week in Canberra in a few weeks, and I plan on snagging some tickets!

My friend Tanja was an au pair for a winery/venue and we spent a few fun afternoons there eating and drinking. So it was fitting that our last outing was spent at Pochers Pantry! Beautiful day and amazing food, but sad goodbyes :( hope to see you again someday Tanja!

Other exciting news:

In a few weeks I'll be taking a bus up to Sydney to spend the weekend with Jensen ( a Bloomington Townie) to see one of my favorite bands Alt-j! So excited to go to Sydney and see a concert!

On a wilder note and Bloomington related, last night I met someone who had been to Bloomington and has close friends from Bloomington! The world is so small!!!!

Spring may be in bloom back in Indiana, but winter is coming here in Yass! Keep your fingers crossed for me that it won't get too cold ( it shouldn't get under 50 hahah) but that feels cold to me after living this endless summer lifestyle!

If the weather is nice next weekend I hope to make it to the Blue Mountains for a weekend of hiking.

More life updates to come!

Also most people I meet ask me if I'm from Canada. Guess I'll have a better idea of my accent comparison when I'm in Canada in August!

How did I get so lucky?!?!?
